Public hearing planned on intersection reconfiguration

An intersection reconfiguration in Colon Township will be at the center of a public hearing next month.

The St. Joseph County Road Commission will conduct the public hearing at 6 p.m. April 4 to discuss the installation of a roundabout at Colon and Farrand roads in Colon Township.

The hearing will take place at the Colon Fire Department, 1063 M-86.

The intersection is scheduled to become a four-way stop in advance of bridge work this summer on M-66, just north of the M-86 intersection that leads east into Colon.

Construction of the roundabout is expected to take place in 2020.
