Missing man found deceased

A man reported missing in Cass County was found deceased Wednesday.

Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke said the body of Larry Waldschmidt, was found in Penn Township.

Wadschmidt, 78, was driving a Ford Escape that he apparently parked in a driveway at a residence on Kelsey Lake Street, west of Decatur Road. Behnke said the owners were not staying at the residence at this time.

Waldschmidt had been reported missing since March 27 and was considered endangered due to his insulin dependence as a diabetic as well as an Alzheimer’s patient.

Behnke said dozens of tips from around the state were given as possible sighting but after being investigated, they were all unfounded.
