Here’s the weekly update from Michigan Department of Transportation regarding its redevelopment of U.S. 131 in Three Rivers.
Agency officials said Stage 5 traffic pattern remains in effect, meaning two-way traffic in the southbound lane of U.S. 131 will continue throughout the length of the project. Also, work related to some utility relocation is possible this week.
Westbound traffic on Michigan Avenue will drive on a newly paved section and Michigan Avenue will continue as a one-way route, as potential eastbound traffic will remain subject to a detour.
MDOT officials said roadbuilding on the northern section of Michigan Avenue will start this week, while roadbuilding continues on the northbound lanes of U.S. 131.
In addition, crews will be laying storm pipe in various locations and electrical subcontractors will be working at traffic signals throughout various locations along the construction route.
MDOT has assured that access to all businesses will remain in place.
