US 131 reconstruction update

Michigan Department of Transportation has provided a weekly update on its work related to the U.S. 131 redevelopment project.

MDOT said Stage 5 traffic pattern continues, with all traffic using a single lane in the southbound side of the highway.

Some utility relocation through the length of the project will continue this week. Meanwhile, West Michigan Avenue paving is complete and it will re-open this week.

Coon Hollow Road and Broadway Street will be closed this week for road-building; detours are in place. MDOT further noted that some mainline base paving will begin north of West Michigan Avenue to Arnold Street.

Also, construction of the multi-use path will continue with paving to start possibly this week.

In addition, electrical subcontractor crews will continue performing signal work at various locations throughout the project.
