Potential virus exposure location notification

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency and the Center for Health & Wellness of Sturgis are notifying anyone who sought care at CHW since June 15th to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

The warning comes as four staff members at CHW have tested positive for the virus. Any patients who had close contact with a staff member at CHW and either the patient or staff member were not wearing a mask are further asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Rebecca Burns, health officer with the tri-county agency, said wearing a mask is the best thing to do – even when seeing a medical provider – to minimize transmission of COVID-19.

BHSJCHA is asking anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to get tested and to self-isolate to prevent exposing others. Major symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
