Free hearing and vision tests for incoming kindergartners

Here’s a message for parents or guardians of incoming kindergarten students.

The tri-county health department is offering free hearing and vision screens in the next two weeks.

Appointments are for any student entering kindergarten for the first time, whether they have opted for on-line only or in-person learning.

Tests are between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and will be conducted Thursday at Three Rivers Clinic, 1110 Hill St.; Friday at Sturgis Clinic, 1555 E. Chicago Road; and Thursday and Friday at Coldwater Clinic, 570 N. Marshall Road, Coldwater.

An appointment is required. Agency officials said temperatures will be taken at the door, masks will be required and only one person may accompany the student to the screening room.

To schedule an appointment in Branch County, call 517-279-9561, ext. 118. In St. Joseph County, the number is 269-273-2161, ext. 202.
