A Sturgis man died in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday in Fawn River Township.

Michigan State Police troopers were called at 12:47 p.m. to U.S. 12, near Carls Road, in response to an accident involving injuries.

A 2003 Jeep Liberty, driven by a 43-year-old Sturgis man, was westbound on U.S. 12 when a 2001 Ford F-150 crossed the centerline and struck the Jeep head-on.

The pickup was driven by a 39-year-old-man also from Sturgis.

The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. A 42-year-old Sturgis woman was a passenger in the Jeep. She was taken to Sturgis Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the F-150 was treated at Sturgis Hospital.

It is unknown if alcohol was a factor, authorities said.
