Man arrested following attempted traffic stop

A 35-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested last week after fleeing in a vehicle at a high rate of speed in Fabius Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies attempted to stop a vehicle at 3:30 p.m. Thursday on County Line Road near Coon Hollow Road for a traffic violation.

The suspect did not stop and fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed. Authorities said the suspect drove west on Bald Hill Road into Cass County.

The vehicle eventually came to a stop and the driver then ran from the scene, leaving his female passenger behind.

Deputies eventually apprehended the man. Charges are being sought for fleeing and eluding, possession of methamphetamine and firearm violations. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants, Lillywhite said.
