Roger Wyman, 77

Roger Wayne Wyman, age 77, recently of Three Rivers, formerly from Marcellus, died Saturday, April 30, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
His life began September 4,1944 in Paw Paw, the youngest of nine children born to Cecil Wyman and Louise Caroline Emery.
Roger was a 1962 graduate of Marcellus Community Schools. He married Tina Marie Waldo August 5, 1989, and she survives. He owned and operated Wyman Family Farms in Marcellus and Volinia Townships for over 50 years. He was a member of Farm Bureau, a township board official, was on the school board in Marcellus, a coach for baseball and football, and a life-long active part of his community.
Roger was a strong, fearless, generous, and hardworking man who lived his life the way he wanted. When he gave you his word, he honored it. He was a man who enjoyed a good debate, but also loved to tease those around him. He had a passion for fishing especially catching bluegills. He would make it his mission to get a mess of fish for anyone he thought should have fresh fish as long as they would clean them. In the fall he loved coon hunting and deer hunting on the farm with family and friends and sharing their stories. He enjoyed the casino and his annual visit to Las Vegas. He hardly missed a morning coffee with his friends. He looked forward to family bonfires, and the annual up north trip mushroom hunting. He was a friend to many and was loved deeply by his family.
Roger will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tina. Along with his children Roger Scott (Terri) Wyman, Stefany Thornburgh (Jeffery Etter) and Stacy (Spencer) Holmes, he is survived by his former wife, the children’s mother, Jennifer Grames. Grandchildren Ashley Wyman, Kylie (Kyle) Jones, Tyler Wyman, Sara (Jason DeMorrow) Wyman, Joshua (Mariah Hatkevich) Wyman, Ellie Holmes, Emma Holmes, Carter Thornburgh, and Cole Thornburgh. Three great-grandchildren; Sawyer and Logan Jones and Ella DeMorrow. Siblings, Richard (Teri) of Redford, MI,  Raymond (Carol) of Vicksburg, and Timothy (Alice) of Michigan City, IN,  sisters Margaret (Shoji) Masuzawa of Kalamazoo,  Kay (Cordell) Jones of Marcellus, and Esther Wyman of Plainwell, and a host of nieces and nephews. Also, his faithful four-legged companion, Maddy, who never left his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Harriett and brother-in-law Roger Long and sister Barbara Sprang.

A celebration of life in honor of Roger has been planned on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Hudson Memorial Building in Marcellus. For those wishing to openly share memories and stories please join the family at 8:00 p.m. for a brief personal time of reflection. Light refreshments will be served.
