Stephen Bornman, 69

Stephen Henry Bornman, 69, of White Pigeon, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Ind., after an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 28, 1940, in Indianapolis. He had been a White Pigeon resident since 1990, coming from Syracuse, Ind.

He was a 1959 graduate of Syracuse High School, a graduate of Goshen College, and a chartered life underwriter.

On April 23, 1960, he married Twilla Anne Morehouse in Milford, Ind.

He was a well-known businessman and owner of White Pigeon Mini-Storage. Steve was an entrepreneur who enjoyed creating a business.

He was a member of Christ Chapel in South Bend, Ind.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Candace (Jon) Martin of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sons, Chris (Rebecca) Bornman of Syracuse and Shawn (Melissa) Bornman of Milford; nine grandchildren; a brother, Patrick Bornman of Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law, Irene Bornman of Goshen, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Meyers; and a brother, Roger Bornman.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with senior pastor Steve Sumrall and pastor Steve Coyle of Christ Chapel officiating. Burial will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery, White Pigeon.
