Diane June Borgert, age 65, of Colon, Mich., and previously of Burr Oak, Mich., passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 16, 2009 .
She was born June 26, 1944, in Fawn River Twp., Mich., a daughter to Clyde and Grace (Schellhous) VanWormer.
Diane graduated from Colon High School and had been a resident of St. Joseph County most of her life. She was married to Walter E. Borgert in 1978. He preceded her in death.
She was a licensed beautician, a homemaker, a very caring person, and she enjoyed animals and spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter, Tonya Hernandez of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three grandchildren, Amber Briones and Nicole Shaffer, both of Coldwater, Mich., and Tyler Russey of Three Rivers, Mich.; four great-grandchildren, Xavier Shaffer, Maliah Briones, Luis Shaffer, and Jaylee Stout, all of Coldwater; her mother, Grace VanWormer of Colon; and aunts, cousins, and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her father and husband.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at the New Life Tabernacle, 300 Smith St., Coldwater
