Sue Carol Racette, age 82, of Nottawa, died peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born in Kalamazoo on August 2, 1941 the daughter of Earl and Ruby (Pike) Goble. She graduated from Honor High School. Sue worked at the Friend of the Court office in Centreville and retired from the law offices of Bird, Scheske, Reed and Beemer in Sturgis after 25 years. She enjoyed playing golf in several leagues.
Sue is survived by four children, Cindy Moreland of Dickinson, Texas, Frank Racette and Robert Racette both of Centreville, and Jeffrey (Tonja) Racette of Mendon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; long-time friends, Gary and Laurel Zielke, Pattie S. Bender, and Norman Hill; and by her best friend and life-time partner, Larry Gonser. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Racette in 1973; sisters, Beverly Vanderhoof, Patricia Beechraft, and Peggy Peck; brothers, Lavern Goble and Jerry Goble.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been conducted. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, Sep. 21, 2023 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. The family will celebrate Sue’s life with a gathering at Sand Lake. It is suggested that memorial contributions in her name be directed to Three Rivers Hospice, 711 S.
