Richard Astling, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Medilodge of Ludington. He was born on April 12, 1938 to Charles Astling and Myrtle (Schutt) Astling, in Constantine.
Richard graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1956 and began working for Gray Brothers Stamping & Machine Inc. He moved to the Ludington area in 2002 and took on work at Custom Sheet Metal & Heating. He will be remembered for his work ethic, his friendly nature, and his personal faith.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Barbara; children, Terry, Robert, Arlene, Joseph; stepson Greg McCallum; grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Eric, Spencer, Dustin, Alexes, and Sarah.
Richard was preceded in death by his brother Floyd; sister Nancy Eipperle; and son, Thomas.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington (viewing begins at 1 p.m.). Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
