Deborah Kaye (Royer) Keefer, age 69, of Sturgis, passed away on September 3, 2024, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1955, in Sturgis, daughter of the late Richard and Barbara (Tinkham) Royer.
Deb was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1973. She furthered her education at Glen Oaks Community College earning an Associate Degree in Applied Science in the LPN program.
She worked as an LPN at area nursing homes, Sturgis Hospital, doctor’s offices, and home health care for children, which she truly loved.
Deb had a passion for crafts. Two of her favorite crafts were making greeting cards and miniature sculptures. She had a true love and appreciation for animals. For several years she raised and trained Australian Shepherds, she rode and trained her horses and trained her potbelly pig. She also enjoyed antique tractors with Tim.
She is survived by her soulmate: Timothy Rossman of Sturgis; sister: Kim (Rich) Gorman of Rochester Hills; nieces: Alexis (Lawrence) Thompson and Ashley Gorman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Richard Royer.
In honoring Deb’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date to be announced.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
