White Pigeon Library meets bookmobile fundraising goal

White Pigeon Township Library made a major announcement this week regarding its ongoing fundraiser for a bookmobile.

Director Perri Saunders said the $185,000 goal was met last month. She said the library is still accepting donations and hosting periodic fundraisers for bookmobile support.

The truck and trailer are purchased, and awaiting graphics and specialized shelving. Saunders did not indicate when the Sprinter van and trailer combination will debut.

Meanwhile, the library is hosting its second-annual chili cook-off Nov. 7. Cost is $5 to participate in tasting and casting a vote. Anyone interested in entering is asked to call Saunders at the library.

Also, the library on Oct. 24 is hosting a Harry Potter bash, featuring themed games, food and activities for all ages.
