Frances Jean Wells, age 93, of Burr Oak, passed away peacefully Friday morning, December 13, 2024, at her home.
She was born June 11, 1931, in Sturgis, daughter of the late Clarence and Marie Jenny (Hagadorn) Wellington.
Mrs. Wells resided most of her life in Burr Oak and was a graduate of Burr Oak High School.
On June 25, 1949, she married Robert E. Wells in Burr Oak. He preceded her in death October 13, 2011.
She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and farmers wife.
Jean for several years volunteered her time with Burr Oak Schools and she enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, and traveling. Jean was a lover of cats.
She is survived by her children: Robert A. (Conni) Wells of Tennessee, Denise (James) Hoisington of Stanwood, and Terry Wells of Burr Oak; 12 grandchildren including Justin Wells of Burr Oak; 12 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Brad Wells, grandson: Wesley Wells; daughter-in-law: Hope Wells and brother: Earl “Jack” Wellington.
In honoring Mrs. Wells wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the remains will take place at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak in the spring of 2025.
