Wilma Rickett, 86

Wilma Jillyne Rickett, age 86, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 8, 2025, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

She was born November 1, 1938, in Quincy, Michigan, daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Biers) Deal.

Mrs. Rickett had resided in the Sturgis and Burr Oak area since 1955, coming from Quincy.

On June 25, 1955, she married Richard Grover Rickett in Quincy. He preceded her in death March 17, 2010.

She retired in 1983 from Sturgis Newport Business Forms in Sturgis following 28 years of dedicated employment.

Mrs. Rickett was a member of the Free Methodist Church (Hope Church) in Coldwater. She enjoyed garage sales, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter: Carol (Tim) Charles of Sturgis; son: Chuck (Cheryl) Rickett of Sturgis; Seven Grandchildren; Carisa (Ben) Farrer, Tonya (James) DeWitt, Tim (Christy) Charles, Corey (Racheal) Charles, Charlie Rickett, Michelle Scarbery and Brenton (Camile) Rickett; 28 great grandchildren; one great great grandchildren; Sister: Donna Rickett of Sturgis; brother: Robert Deal of Coldwater and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Charles Deal, Jr. and Walter Deal.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Monday, January 13th at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis where funeral services celebrating the life of Wilma Jillyne Rickett will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
