James William Mallow, age 57, of Bronson, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
A service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Terry Siler officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Fry Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, from 3 to 7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
James was born March 25, 1967, to Leslie and Carole (Leach) Mallow in Sturgis. He married Lynette M. Weitting on December 14, 1985 in Sturgis.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Branch County where he worked on the family farm for over 40 years. Jim was not a church goer, but he believed in God, and he saw God in nature and in his children and grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Jim was a friend to everyone. He always had a smile, a joke, or a story to tell.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lynette Mallow of Bronson; his children Jael (Mitchell) Miller of Bronson, Caleb (Kathleen) Mallow of Bronson; his parents Leslie and Carole Mallow of Bronson; his grandchildren Hayden Miller, Malia Miller, Luke Mallow, Bella Mallow, and William Mallow all of Bronson; his sister Kim (Bruce) Coney of Lagrange, IN; his uncles Lloyd (Shirley) Mallow of Bronson, Donald Leach Jr. of Burr Oak; his Aunt Judy (Dennis) Parker of Three Rivers: his devoted cousins Deb (Mark) Hill of Bronson, Doug (Tina) Leach of Bristol, IN, and Brian Parker of Three Rivers; his father and mother in law Donald and Linda Weitting of Sturgis; his brother and sister in law Larry (Liz) Weitting of Sturgis, and his nephews Larry Jr. and Colton Weitting of Quincy.
Jim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Dorothy Mallow, Dale Mallow and step grandmother Marion Mallow; his maternal grandparents Donald and Alma Leach; and his Aunt Mary Ruth Leach.
Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Cancer Center and Elara Hospice.
