Michael Todd Hart, age 59, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025, unexpectedly at his place of work in Elkhart.
He was born on August 6, 1966 in Sturgis, son of Lawrence and Fern (Brock) Hart.
Mike was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1984. He furthered his education at Ivy Tech Community College. For the past 10 years, he was employed as a purchasing agent at Tuscany Motor Company in Elkhart. Prior to joining Tuscany, he worked for 20 years at Jayco, Inc.
Mike was well known by family and friends as a true sports fanatic. He was a loyal fan of the Michigan Wolverines and Chicago Cubs, and his love for sports was reflected in his extensive memorabilia collections. He also had a genuine appreciation for music and enjoyed attending concerts.
He is survived by his parents: Lawrence Hart of Sturgis and Fern Roberts of Sturgis; sister: Stacie Hart of Sturgis; brother: Jeff Hart of Chicago; nephews: Easton and Spencer Foster; step-sisters: Wendy, Kelly, and Carrie; and his best friends: Scot Jones and Tim Stepp, both of Sturgis.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Linda Hart, and step-father, Michael Roberts.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 17th, at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis, with a time of sharing memories beginning at 6:30 P.M. In honoring Michael’s wishes, cremation will follow the gathering.
