Wilbur E. Seager Sr., age 92, of Jones, died on Friday, September 12, 2025 at his home. He was born July 23, 1933 in Jones, a son of Ward and Wilma (Withers) Seager. Wilbur attended school in Cassopolis. On July 6, 1963 he married Alice Petrauskas in St. Joseph Co., MI.
Wilbur worked at Skyline in Elkhart until he purchased his farm in 1966, which he operated until 2001. Following the sale of his farm he worked for Bill White Farms and Select Seeds.
He was a member of Porter Baptist Church and Jones Co-Op.
Surviving are his wife Alice Seager, children Connie (Larry), Wilbur Jr. (Shelly), Richard (Pam) Seager and Laura (Brian), grandchildren Jeremiah (Katie), Zachariah (Shawnee), Eric (Karen), Rebecca (Doug), Brandon (Taylor), Cassandra (Nathan), Alexandra and John, and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Warren (VI) Seager, Marion (Walter) Westgate, Walter (Melvina) Seager, Waneta Adams, Wayne (Paula) Seager, Mildred (Francis) Lamb, and Martha (Wayne) Weaver.
Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Friday Sept. 19, 2025 from 2 to 4 pm at Porter Baptist Church, 12032 Teasdale Lake Rd, Constantine. Religious services will follow at 4 pm with Pastor Randy Peterson officiating. Private burial of ashes will be in Shavehead Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Porter Baptist Church.
