A Muskegon man sustained serious injuries in a car-semi crash on M-103 north of Barker Road in Mottville Township Wednesday afternoon. 51-year-old Lyle Maki began passing a semi with his Volkswagen Beetle, when he collided head-on with an on-coming semi driven by Joe Takacs, age 54, of Detroit. Maki was airlifted from the scene to a hospital for treatment.

Willard W. Kipker, 91, passed away July 29, 2014, at Fidelia Eckerd Living Center, Highlands, N.C.
