Two people were arrested on drug-related offenses in Sturgis this week. According to a Sturgis Police Department media release, officers responded around 8 a.m. Tuesday to what was reported as a suspicious situation in the 1200 block of East Chicago Road. County unemployment lower in September

September’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County was eight-tenths of a percent lower than the previous month. The monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget showed the county’s 3.7 percent September’s unemployment rate marked a decrease from August’s 4.5 percent.
