Michigan court reinstates first-degree murder conviction

The Michigan Supreme Court has reinstated a first-degree murder conviction against a man who stabbed a woman 29 times in 2014. Christopher Oros killed Marie McMillan, but he claimed it wasn’t premeditated. Volunteer crew clean rivers

The St. Joseph County Conservation District crew cleaned 3.4 miles (2.2 of Nottawa Creek and 1.2 of the St. Joseph River) Saturday. The crew went from Rawson’s King Mill Park to the M-66 bridge. An Illinois woman was taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac Saturday following an incident on Dewey Lake in Cass County. One injured in Cass County crash

The Cass County sheriff’s department is still investigating a single-vehicle accident that happened in Mason Township last Friday. The sheriff’s office said Sarah Miller, 26, of Elkhart, Ind., was southbound on George Smith Drive when her vehicle left the roadway and struck multiple vehicles. Miller was taken by Porter Ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for minor injuries. Alcohol was a factor, authorities said.
