Man dies after motorcycle crash

A 42-year-old Centreville man died over the weekend from injuries following a motorcycle accident. State police said Larry D. Smith died several hours after the motorcycle he was driving struck a deer at 10:20 p.m. Saturday on M-86 near M-66 in Colon Township. St Joseph County unemployment remains below average

March’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County was seven-tenths of a percent lower than one month previous. The monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget showed the county’s 3.5 percent March unemployment rate marked a decrease from February’s 4.2 percent.
