Arrest – Kalamazoo murder

The teenager suspected of killing a Kalamazoo man last week is now in police custody.  18-year-old DaQuan Pritchett turned himself in to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety on Sunday. 19-year-old Christopher Adams was shot and killed on the city’s northeast side on July 23.  According to reports, the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor plans to charge Pritchett with open murder. Police in southwest Michigan are looking for a missing Dowagiac woman. 25-year old Rose Morris was reported missing Sunday morning. Family members told police she was last seen Thursday evening when Morris said she was going out with friends. Police believe she was at a friend’s house for most of the night, but later left just before midnight. Morris is …

Texas man struck by vehicle

A Texas man, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was struck by a vehicle and killed Sunday night in Sturgis Township. Sheriff’s department officials said the 40-year-old man was walking on M-66 when he was struck by a northbound car driven by a 58-year-old woman from Washtenaw County. The incident occurred near the intersection of Bogen Road.

  An Indiana woman who was arrested after a police chase in April had her case bound over to Circuit Court last week by St. Joseph County District Judge Robert Pattison after a preliminary hearing. Man electrocuted in Cass County

Authorities say a 43-year-old Chicago man was electrocuted while doing work at a home east of Cassopolis. The Cass County sheriff’s department says Michael Koranda was found Sunday afternoon by family members at the home on Diamond Island, which is located in Diamond Lake in Penn Township. The department says he was pronounced dead at the scene.  (AP)

Fatal crash in Cass County

A 23-year-old Indiana woman died and four other people were injured when a speeding vehicle went out of control while passing another vehicle and flipped several times. The Cass County sheriff’s department says it happened about 9:50 p.m. Saturday in Howard Township, northeast of Niles. Sgt. Sheriff advised that man was found

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was advised Thursday by the White Pigeon Police Department that Charles Rusher was found in the St. Joseph County community. White Pigeon Police advised that Rusher had broken into a residence during the nighttime hours and fell asleep on a couch. The homeowner discovered Rusher around 8:30 a.m. and notified authorities.
