Man kills himself

Sturgis police were called at noon Tuesday to Oaklawn Park in response to a report of a man in possession of a firearm inside a parked vehicle. The first team of officers to arrive to the city-owned park found that the 28-year-old man had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Electronics and jewelry were reported missing following a breaking-and-entering incident Wednesday in Sturgis. The victim told police the break-in occurred between 4 and 6 p.m. and access was gained by forced entry through a back door at a residence in the 400 block of Center Street.

A Three Rivers man was injured Monday after his vehicle struck the back of a county snow-plow truck in Mottville Township.
