Two people were killed Wednesday morning in a one-vehicle crash in White Pigeon Township. The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department says a van, driven by 30-year-old Kirk Miller of Keystone, Indiana, was westbound on Fawn River Road, left the road, and rolled over several times shortly after 6:30am. The Centreville Downtown Development Authority recently completed a transaction that includes the purchase of the former Village Market. November’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County remained less than 7 percent, as it dropped one-tenth of a percent compared to October. Several chainsaws and a gas-powered pruning saw were taken early Monday from a business in Park Township. Sheriff Brad Balk said someone broke into Fillmore Equipment, located at 16700 U.S. 131, by shattering a front window.
