Kalamazoo County authorities are investigating the case of a man who was shot and killed over the weekend in Schoolcraft Township. County unemployment rate increases

July’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County was 1.7 percent higher than the previous month. The monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget showed the county’s 5.4 percent July unemployment rate marked an increase from June’s 3.7 percent.
