As expected, the St. Joseph County Road Commission has begun enforcing the seasonal weight restrictions. The annual restriction took effect at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Seasonal weight restriction permits can be downloaded from the website: stjoeroads.com. The restrictions are necessary due to the potential damage to roadways because of the freeze-thaw-cycle common this time of year.

State lawmakers are again considering a measure to legalize ticket scalping in Michigan. A Sturgis resident was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash Friday night on McKale Road. According to State Police, 20-year-old Paige Baker lost control of her pickup and struck a tree. The crash happened just south of Findley Road.
