Constantine boys’ basketball coach Chuck Frisbie was named Associated Press Class C coach of the year. Mendon’s Logan Slaughter and Elijah Klepper were named to the Associated Press’ Division 7-8 All-State Football Team. For Slaughter it was his third appearance on the prestigious team. He was a four-year starter for the Hornets, who went 10-2 in the 2014 season. Klepper, a senior and team captain, rushed for 1,702 yards on 190 carries this season. He averaged …

  Colon was no match for Mendon’s powerful offense and stingy defense at Saturday’s opening round of the state playoffs. The Hornets dominated the Magi, 49-8, from start to finish. Mendon,9-1, now will host Climax-Scotts, also 9-1, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.  8, at John Schwartz Field in Mendon.
