New fundraising record set for United Way

The St. Joseph County United Way once again set a new record for funds raised, as it recently concluded its 2021 campaign. Director Kelly Hostetler said the 12-month’s campaign goal was exceeded, and more than $1.1 million was raised. Support group helps grandparents raising grandchildren

St. Joseph County Resources wishes to remind the public about a group for grandparents raising their grandchildren. Currently meeting virtually, the group meets monthly and welcomes new members. Hearing set for man charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice

A 31-year-old Centreville man was charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice. Joseph Johnson, who is the second of two people who tried to help Travis McCann get charges dropped against him, was arrested last weekend, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department. Constantine accepts marijuana permit applications

Members of the Constantine Village Council have accepted applications for an adult-use marijuana permit from two provisioning centers in the community. The Dude Abides and Constantine Wellness Center both already have licenses for medical marijuana. The recreational permit is available to businesses with a medical-marijuana permit from the village. Andrews Elementary returns to virtual learning

Three Rivers Community Schools Superintendent Ron Moag said the district has decided to suspend in-person learning at Andrews Elementary School for the rest of the month. County commission approves hiring of assistant prosecutor

St. Joseph County Commissioners approved a request from prosecutor David Marvin to add an assistant prosecutor to the office. The position comes with an $85,000 expense, which includes benefits.
