Cass County authorities were unsuccessful in saving a man from drowning last weekend at a lake in Mason Township. The case of a Branch County man facing drug-related and other charges is headed to Branch County Circuit Court. Michigan’s June unemployment rate up

The adjusted unemployment rate in Michigan increased in June from the previous month. Data released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget shows the state’s unemployment rate rose from 3.9 percent in May to 4.1 percent in June.
