Saturday’s collection of household hazardous waste and electronics recycling was declared a success, according to Pat Kulikowski, secretary of the St. Joseph County Solid Waste Committee Board. Woman shot in Cass County incident

A 34-year-old woman was shot during a domestic situation over the weekend in Cass County’s Mason Township. Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called shortly after 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the 19000 block of Chain Lake Street. Deputies arrived to the scene and sought the aid of ambulance personnel. Michigan’s seasonally-adjusted jobless rate declined by two-tenths of a percent in September to 8.5 percent, according to data released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget.
