A former superintendent at a Michigan school district has been sentenced in the armed robbery of a St. Clair County bank. According to court records, 51-year-old Thomas Goulette was sentenced to three-and-a-half to 20 years in prison on a charge of armed robbery Monday. St. Joseph County sheriff’s officials responded to a hit-and-run, property-damage incident over the weekend in Lockport Township. According to a department media release, a 2006 Chevy Impala was parked at the Sturgis Dam, as its owner was fishing in the St. Joseph River. At least three vehicles were illegally entered and various items removed over the weekend in Fawn River Township. Brother of man killed by police sentenced for role in chase

The brother of a man who was fatally shot by police in southwestern Michigan has been sentenced to two years in prison for his role in fleeing officers before the shooting. The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department has announced its 2016 schedule for boater safety classes. Four classes are scheduled and attendance at only one is required to receive certification.
