Daniel Furlong sentenced to prison term

The man responsible for killing 11-year-old Constantine resident Jodi Parrack in 2007 will serve at least 30 years in prison. Daniel Furlong was sentenced by St. Joseph County Circuit Court Judge Paul Stutesman Monday afternoon. A clerk at the Admiral gas station in Sturgis was robbed Monday morning. Sturgis police said the suspect entered the store, located at 1207 E. Pursuit of stolen car ends in arrest

A 21-year-old Three Rivers man was arrested in Elkhart County after allegedly stealing a car from the Three Rivers Meijer. The theft occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday. Three Rivers and Constantine officers pursued the vehicle on U.S. 131, before the suspect crossed into Indiana. A Shipshewana man was arrested following a traffic stop Thursday in White Pigeon Township. State police said troopers stopped a 1991 Camaro on Lake Street, near South Kalamazoo Street, for failing to signal before turning. County unemployment down

The November unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by two-tenths of a percent compared to a month earlier. The monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget showed St. Joseph County’s 3.5 percent November unemployment rate was less than October’s 3.7 percent.
