Jeremy Gooch has been awarded the Professor Emeritus B. Swartz Scholarship for Excellence in Mathematics. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Glen Oaks student with an outstanding record in mathematics courses. Gooch was recommended for the scholarship by Glen Oaks mathematics instructors. The legal process of a Three Rivers man charged with open murder continued this week. The case against 35-year-old Paul Midling was bound to Circuit Court, where he is slated for arraignment. Two arrested on drug charges in Colon

A 55-year-old Kalamazoo man was arrested this week on drug-related offenses following a traffic stop in the village of Colon. According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect’s vehicle was stopped around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday on Blackstone Avenue near State Street. Sturgis is expected to become a central, short-term warehousing hub for live fish from Minnesota to New York restaurants and suppliers.
