Man killed in crash

A Bristol, Indiana man died in a one-car crash early Sunday morning. The victim was identified as 28-year-old Gregory Snyder. According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred on M-60 at the overpass with US-12 in Milton Township. Snyder reportedly struck a guard rail, and was found lying in the roadway.

Union pedestrian injured

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department investigated a vehicle-pedestrian mishap Saturday morning. Jimmy Emerick, age 80, of Three Rivers reportedly struck a pedestrian who was walking along the dirt shoulder on Sunset Boulevard in Porter Township. The pedestrian was identified as 23-year-old Nathaniel Gibson of Union. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.

A Marcellus woman died as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic crash Thursday morning. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Rachel Jacobs. She was eastbound on M-216 when she collided with another eastbound vehicle driven by 19-year-old Brandon Farrand of Colon. Investigators from the Michigan State Police District headquarters in Paw Paw said a Sturgis man who escaped last week from a Thumb-area correctional facility was captured Thursday night. Officials said 31-year-old Darrell Stallard left a work crew Monday near the Tuscola County facility where he was incarcerated.
