State police officials are investigating the theft of a trailer from a location in Constantine Township. The incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday in the 12000 block of Miller Road. The trailer was white and made by Jayco. Its value is estimated to be $7,000, according to authorities.

Former Park Township supervisor passes away

A longtime township official in St. Joseph County passed away last week after a brief illness. Joe Eichorn, former supervisor of Park Township, died Wednesday. The 63-year-old Three Rivers-area resident was given medical leave from the Park Township Board of Trustees. Eichorn was elected township supervisor in 2008. Ed English was subsequently named interim supervisor.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that a number of five-gallon gas cans were stolen from a Burr Oak Township location last week. Sheriff’s officials said the incident took place Sept. 2 in the 65000 block of Burr Oak Road. Investigators said the suspect broke into a building and stole five, 5-gallon cans filled with gas.
