One injured in Cass County crash

The Cass County sheriff’s department is still investigating a single-vehicle accident that happened in Mason Township last Friday. The sheriff’s office said Sarah Miller, 26, of Elkhart, Ind., was southbound on George Smith Drive when her vehicle left the roadway and struck multiple vehicles. Miller was taken by Porter Ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for minor injuries. Alcohol was a factor, authorities said.

Vandalism at Constantine school

Authorities are looking for help in locating subjects who broke into Eastside Elementary School in Constantine, and committed extensive damage in several classrooms. 15 train cars derail in downtown Kalamazoo

Police say 15 train cars have derailed in downtown Kalamazoo. No injuries have been reported. The city’s Department of Public Safety says the train was carrying freight, not passengers, and some cars were empty. There’s no evidence of hazardous materials being released.
